ANTS

Pesticide techniques that work well for individual pests like spiders do not often work as well for ants. Ants do not live as individuals but as colonies in nests. Most of the ants stay home, keeping the place clean and taking care of the kids. They are never exposed to the pesticide. Since the nests are usually difficult to locate and access, treating a nest directly is not often possible. Fortunately, there are now a number of bait technologies available. Foraging ants take the bait back to the colony and destroy the whole nest. The number of treatments needed varies with the type of ant and the size and number of colonies involved. But, given time, bait techniques are very effective.
